A more recent addition to Colinwell's product portfolio, Lightweight Blocks are made from pumice lightweight aggregate, a natural product formed by volcanic activity and used in construction since Roman times.
Pumice has been used in concrete for millennia, indeed, in 126 AD the Romans used it to construct the dome of the Pantheon in Rome, calculating that only the use of lightweight Pumice would allow an unreinforced dome to be constructed.
Colinwell Lightweight Blocks have the following benefits:
Colinwell Primatherm Common blocks are intended for general construction above and below the D.P.C. They provide an excellent key for plastering, rendering and fixings.
Colinwell's Pumice Lightweight Blocks are manufactured to BS EN 771-3 and Quality Assurance Accreditation under BS EN 9001.
Colinwell dense aggregate common concrete blocks are durable, robust and have excellent load-bearing, fire resistance and sound insulation qualities.
Colinwell common concrete blocks are manufactured to BS EN 771-3. These blocks are suitable for the construction of all types of walls including those below ground and foundations (where soil conditions do not necessitate sulphate resistant products) and can be used for T-Beam block floor systems.
Colinwell's Dense Aggregate Blocks are manufactured to BS EN 771-3 and Quality Assurance Accreditation under BS EN 9001.
