Company Background

Colinwell is one of the leading concrete block manufacturers, established in the 1880s, it is a family run business, that began life quarrying limestone and basalt, before evolving over the years to now offer a diverse range of concrete block products that it distributes throughout the UK and Ireland.

Colinwell uses its wealth of experience and in-depth knowledge of the masonry industry to produce and distribute a range of products, including the Allan Block Retaining Wall System, Martello Stone Walling System, Architectural Masonry, Fair Face / Paint Grade Masonry and Colinwell Acoustic Masonry. All of which are manufactured to the highest quality standards.

Duties:

  • Using Sage 50 Accounts and Sage 50 Payroll;

  • Updating Purchase Ledger (i.e., reconciling Supplier Statements and posting Invoices & Payments);

  • Preparation of statutory returns such as EC Sales Lists & Intrastat declarations;

  • Carrying out Account reconciliations – bank / debtors / creditors / VAT;

  • Assisting with month end procedures and journals for all ledgers;

  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts and annual financial statements;

  • Communicating with customers, supply chain or any other third parties to resolve any queries through email, telephone, and face to face meetings.

The Successful Candidate must:

  • Be proficient in the use of Sage 50 Accounts, Sage 50 Payroll, Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

  • Have experience of purchase ledger (i.e., reconciling Supplier Statements and posting Invoices & Payments)

  • Have experience of carrying out EC Sales Lists & Intrastat declarations.

  • Have excellent attention to detail and a high numerical understanding.

  • Demonstrate a flexible attitude to business change.

  • Have good organisational skills.

  • Have experience completing bank reconciliations.

  • Have a good phone manner and can communicate effectively with suppliers regarding queries etc.

  • Have good written and oral communication.

  • Have excellent time management skills.
